USD/KRW finished Thursday 9.5 won above its 2026 low, after rising 6.3 won from the previous session to 1,344.6.

The rate had finished the previous session at 1,338.3 and began Thursday at 1,342.0, or 3.7 won above that earlier close. Its finish was 6.3 won higher than the previous session. USD/KRW expresses how many won buy one U.S. dollar, so a higher rate signals a weaker won.

Bank of Korea data list the 2026 USD/KRW range as 1,335.1 to 1,555.8. Thursday’s close was 9.5 won, or about 0.7%, above the lower end and 13.6% below the upper end. The lower rate corresponds to the won’s strongest value in that range, while the upper rate corresponds to its weakest.

On July 22, USD/KRW stood at 1,480.1, 135.5 won above Thursday’s close.
