XRP has officially launched its dedicated account on X (formerly Twitter) under the highly sought-after @XRP handle, marking a significant milestone for one of the cryptocurrency market's most established digital assets. The debut sparked excitement across the XRP community, with Ripple executives publicly celebrating the long-awaited arrival.

The newly activated account introduced itself with a simple message: "hello, world. It’s about time." The announcement quickly gained attention from cryptocurrency enthusiasts, industry leaders, and XRP supporters.

Ripple, the blockchain payments company closely associated with XRP, welcomed the account and highlighted its longstanding involvement in developing the XRP Ledger (XRPL).

"For over a decade, we've built on the XRP Ledger alongside thousands of others," Ripple stated on X, adding, "Good to see you here, @XRP."

Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse also celebrated the launch, emphasizing how long the community had anticipated the account's official debut.

"This one has been a long time coming… Welcome @XRP!" Garlinghouse posted alongside a short video.

The announcement coincided with positive XRP price movement. At the time, XRP was trading near $1.30, representing a 2.11% increase over the previous 24 hours.

According to its X profile, the official XRP account is jointly managed by Ripple and the XRP Ledger Foundation (XRPLF). Its description identifies XRP as the native cryptocurrency of the XRP Ledger, a decentralized blockchain network designed to facilitate efficient digital payments.

The profile also includes a disclaimer clarifying that its posts should not be interpreted as financial or investment advice.

Despite launching only hours earlier, the official XRP X account attracted approximately 21,700 followers, while following just 42 accounts. Its early followers included prominent community members and cryptocurrency-focused profiles.

The launch places XRP alongside other leading cryptocurrencies with established social media identities. Bitcoin's official @Bitcoin account, created in August 2011, has accumulated millions of followers, while Ethereum maintains its @ethereum account under the Ethereum Foundation. Dogecoin also operates a dedicated @dogecoin profile dating back to December 2013.

The introduction of @XRP provides the cryptocurrency with a recognizable social media presence, potentially strengthening community engagement and improving access to XRP Ledger updates.

As XRP adoption and blockchain payment developments continue attracting industry attention, the account could become an important communication channel for the broader XRP ecosystem.
