XRP has emerged as the most actively traded major cryptocurrency on South Korea's largest crypto exchange, Upbit, surpassing Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) in spot trading volume. The surge highlights growing interest in the Ripple-linked digital asset among South Korean investors despite broader cryptocurrency market weakness.

According to recent trading data, XRP recorded more than $145.6 million in spot trading volume against the South Korean won (KRW) on October 15. The figure exceeded Bitcoin's $126.5 million and Ethereum's $92.1 million in trading activity during the same period.

The results placed XRP ahead of the two largest cryptocurrencies by market capitalization, demonstrating its strong presence in South Korea's digital asset market.

XRP's trading dominance continued into October 16, even as overall cryptocurrency trading activity declined. Although spot volumes for XRP, Bitcoin, and Ethereum weakened, XRP maintained its leading position on Upbit for a second consecutive day.

The sustained trading activity suggests that South Korean crypto traders remain particularly interested in XRP despite ongoing market uncertainty. The country's cryptocurrency market has historically played an important role in altcoin trading, making local exchange activity a closely watched indicator of investor sentiment.

Market observers are now assessing whether increased XRP trading volume in South Korea could support a broader price recovery. Strong participation on Upbit may indicate improving investor confidence, potentially contributing to greater liquidity and trading momentum for the cryptocurrency.

However, elevated trading volume does not necessarily translate into higher prices. Increased activity can reflect both buying and selling pressure, meaning XRP's next price movement will depend on broader market conditions and sustained demand.

South Korea's growing participation in XRP trading could nevertheless become an important factor in the asset's near-term performance. Continued leadership over Bitcoin and Ethereum in KRW trading pairs may reinforce XRP's popularity among local investors.

With XRP maintaining its trading advantage for two consecutive sessions, traders will likely monitor Upbit's spot market data for signs of whether the momentum can extend into the coming days and potentially influence XRP's price outlook.
