Coinglass data for Nov. 4 showed varied shifts in major crypto futures positioning, led by declines in XRP's coin-margined long-position share and Ether's dollar-margined long-account share, with account counts and position sizes moving differently.
XRP's coin-margined long-position share was 73%, down 6.33 percentage points from Nov. 3. Ether's dollar-margined long-account share stood at 63%, down 7.68 points. Bitcoin's (BTC) dollar-margined account share fell 7.64 points to 66%, while Solana's (SOL) dropped 1.81 points to 78%.
In coin-margined accounts, XRP's long share declined 1.25 points to 87%. Ether (ETH) gained 0.10 point to 82%, and Bitcoin rose 0.25 point to 80%; the readings for Solana and Dogecoin (DOGE), along with those for Bitcoin and Ether, each shifted by less than one percentage point.
Position shares told a different part of the story. XRP's dollar-margined long-position share slipped 1.87 points to 67%, and Solana's fell 1.61 points to 70%. Bitcoin's, Ether's and Dogecoin's dollar-margined position shares each increased by less than one point. Coin-margined position shares for Bitcoin, Ether, Solana and Dogecoin also each changed by less than one point.
The account measure counts the share of top-trader accounts holding long positions; the position measure reflects the long side's share of those traders' futures size. The percentages capture different aspects of exposure and can diverge, as EconoTimes has explained in earlier futures coverage.
