Yandex said on Oct. 19 that ride bookings and deliveries were available again after drone attacks on three Russian data centers, but restrictions on its business cloud platform continued.
Taxi bookings, meal and grocery deliveries, car sharing and scooter rentals were available through Yandex Go and related apps, the company said. Yandex Cloud guidance updated on Oct. 19 warned that customers could still face limits when creating new resources. It gave no deadline for full restoration.
Yandex reported 64,000 cloud customers in the first half of 2026. The company is waiving consumption charges from Oct. 8 through Oct. 31 for Yandex.Cloud LLC customers who were using resources in Russian availability zones on Oct. 7, 2026. It has not disclosed the value of the waiver.
The disruption also affected payments. On Oct. 11, Yandex said many Yandex Pay users could not view balances, make purchases or transfer money, though copies of their account records remained intact. In an Oct. 13 update, the company said card and payment-sticker transactions had fully resumed and transfers had returned for some users, while Pay remained unstable.
Yandex said restoring Pay took longer because engineers had to rebuild systems while keeping financial records replicated across data centers. The Moscow Times reported on Oct. 19 that the payment service was still only partly available.
In a post timestamped 1:30 a.m. ET (05:30 UTC) on Oct. 11, NetBlocks showed Yandex Cloud at 30% of normal network connectivity and Yandex’s main network at 63%. Those percentages measure connectivity, not the number of affected users.
Yandex said an attack overnight Oct. 7-8 seriously damaged its Sasovo site, which it shut down. A strike on Oct. 9 disabled part of its Kaluga facility, while another overnight Oct. 10-11 led it to shut down its Vladimir site. Yandex did not identify an attacker. Fire Point said Ukrainian forces used its FP-1 drones against Kaluga, and Ukraine’s 413th regiment said it took part in the Vladimir strike.
The attacks followed an earlier reported strike on a Sberbank data center, although Sberbank said its systems were operating normally. Yandex Cloud’s standard billing is scheduled to resume Nov. 1.
