Yemen’s army reported 744 attacks against the Houthi group over 24 hours, claiming about 200 members were put out of action as an offensive continued on several fronts, Anadolu Agency reported Tuesday.
The army also said 90 vehicles and other military assets were damaged or destroyed. It gave no separate count of people killed and injured. Anadolu explained that the army’s term “neutralized” can include either outcome.
The statement described a mix of air operations, artillery, rocket fire and sniper activity. It said targets included command facilities and fortified sites, as well as Houthi reinforcements and supplies.
In Taiz province, the army said its campaign continued on eastern, southern and western fronts. It claimed the operations constrained the movement of Houthi reserves and stopped the group from gaining territory.
Anadolu reported that the Houthi group had not commented. The agency traced the war to 2014, when the Houthis captured Sanaa and large parts of northern Yemen.
