Zcash (ZEC) developers are targeting Nov. 5 for NU7, a network upgrade that would shorten block intervals to 25 seconds, while Monero topped $650 on Oct. 22.

NU7 would move Zcash’s target gap between blocks from 75 seconds to 25. Blossom previously halved the interval, taking it from 150 seconds to 75.

ZIP editors agreed on block 3,543,405 as the activation point. The Nov. 5 target depends on the network reaching that height, rather than a set hour; ZIP 259 remains marked Proposed. The proposal would also direct 60% of transaction-fee revenue to a reserve for future issuance. NU7 is operating on Zcash’s public test network, with mainnet deployment still pending.

Monero (XMR) moved above $650 on Oct. 22, then stood at $589.30 in a reading at 6:10 p.m. ET (22:10 UTC) Oct. 23. The project’s v0.18.5.4 GUI release, named “Fluorine Fermi,” restores wallet access on testnet and stagenet and includes additional fixes.
