Kyiv Independent and LB.ua reported that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukraine would hold back from attacking Russian refineries for at least 72 hours after U.S. President Donald Trump’s ceasefire announcement. The outlets did not say when that interval began or ended.

The remarks came during a closed-door briefing with journalists on Tuesday, Oct. 27, according to the two outlets. The outlets also reported that Ukraine focused on other locations. EconoTimes previously reported on Zelenskyy’s account of the refinery pause.

The reported restraint covered refinery targets; the accounts did not describe a broader halt to Ukrainian attacks. Russia’s fuel shortages were linked to Ukrainian drone strikes against refinery sites, which began in mid-March. Russia later restricted gasoline, jet fuel and diesel exports while bringing oil products into the country by sea.
