Kimberley Chair in Rock Art and Professor of Australian Archaeology, Centre for Rock Art Research and Management, University of Western Australia
I am an archaeologist with over 30 years of experience researching Aboriginal occupation and art sites in the North-West of Australia, including the Western Desert, North-West Shelf and Kimberley. My areas of focus include the archaeology and evolution of desert and maritime societies, the archaeology of rock art, cultural heritage management, professional accreditation and Quaternary studies. I hold the Kimberley Foundation Ian Potter Chair in Rock Art and Chair of Australian Archaeology. I am currently Head of the Archaeology Section of the Australian Academy of Humanities, on the ARC College of Experts and an Associate Investigator of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Australian Biodiversity and Heritage.
