Laureen Snider

Professor Emerita, Department of Sociology, Queen's University, Ontario

Professor Emerita, Department of Sociology, Queen's University, Ontario Laureen's research has focused on Crimes of the Powerful and the laws, norms and regulations that are responsible for enforcing, disciplining and punishing corporate criminals. She has published articles on stock market enforcement and crime, tax evasion, environmental crime and crimes against workers, looking at how the increased power of business (especially multinational corporations) under neoliberal globalized capitalism has weakened laws against corporations and made enforcement weak to non-existent in many international arenas.

Associate Professor of Pharmacy and Therapeutics, University of Pittsburgh

Associate Professor of Pharmacy and Therapeutics, University of Pittsburgh Dr. Berenbrok received his PharmD from the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy. Afterwards, he completed a one-year community pharmacy practice residency with Kerr Drug and Walgreens at the University of North Carolina Eshelman School of Pharmacy which focused on enhanced community pharmacy patient care services. He received his Master of Science in Clinical Research at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 2017 and is Board Certified in Ambulatory Care Pharmacy by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties. His personal mission statement is to cultivate pharmacist leaders who advance pharmacy practice by bettering patient health and medication-related outcomes with multidisciplinary outpatient healthcare teams.

Regius Chair of Chemistry, University of Glasgow

Regius Chair of Chemistry, University of Glasgow Research in the Cronin Group is focussed on the potential of complex chemical systems derived from non-biological building blocks to have a major impact on our fundamental understanding of the interplay of chemical systems and to revolutionise modern technologies. To this end the Cronin group works within three major research "themes" of Synthesis and Self Assembly, Molecular Devices and Complex Chemical Systems. The Cronin Group believes in a synergistic approach to research with research themes and projects reinforcing each other to enable fundamental advances to be made. This research feeds into a number of major applications being investigated in the Cronin group with the intention of realising the real-world benefits of the fundamental science being conducted. These applications range from developing materials for solar fuel devices to producing potential drug and drug delivery candidates. This Research would not be possible without the wide range of state of the art research equipment routinely used by the Cronin Group. Having recently moved into a purpose built facility within the School of Chemistry at Glasgow university the Cronin Group is at the forefront of developing cutting edge synthetic and analytical techniques for the study of complex inorganic Chemical systems. These advances include the use of low temperature (cryospray) ESI MS techniques to observe chemical transformations and highly reactive intermediate reaction structures and using purpose built flow reactors to study the self-assembly of polyoxometalate systems.

Chancellor's Fellow | Senior Lecturer, University of Strathclyde

Chancellor's Fellow | Senior Lecturer, University of Strathclyde I am a sociologist of punishment. In particular, I am interested in comparative and historical study of incarceration, penal cultures and penal politics. In 2023 I was named as on of ten New Generation Thinkers by the BBC and AHRC. I have been the recipient of the Theoretical Criminology Best Article Prize and the British Society of Criminology's Best Article Prize for a new scholar. I have published on the history of prisons in Ireland and Scotland, comparative punishment, and am currently writing a book on the rise and fall of Magdalene Laundries in the Republic of Ireland.
