Assistant Professor of Nursing, Gonzaga University

Assistant Professor of Nursing, Gonzaga University I am a former newborn intensive care unit nurse and passionate about educating the next generation of nurses and advanced practice nurses in the context of a healthcare system that sorely needs competent, innovative, compassionate clinicians with a fire for social justice. My work lies at the junction of technology and its application to improve healthcare. I am a medical device inventor and alumnus of the Robert Wood Johnson Nurse Faculty Scholars Program, and the Pain in Child Health program from the Canadian Institute of Health Research. Themes in my research include pain assessment, technology in care, and the environment.

Conservation Science Fellow, Smithsonian Institution

Conservation Science Fellow, Smithsonian Institution I am a conservation ecologist interested in developing applied solutions to conservation challenges rooted in scientific understandings of population ecology and movement ecology. Examining these processes through the lens of spatial interactions over time, I hope to better understand how individuals and populations respond to changing environments - from seasonal variation in resource distribution to large scale human-driven disturbances- and exploring how an understanding of these interactions across spatiotemporal scales might be used to craft creative and meaningful conservation strategy. I am committed to translating scientific findings into meaningful conservation strategy. As such, I work collaboratively with conservation organizations, government agencies and academic institutions to better understand and implement solutions to contemporary issues in biodiversity conservation. Conservation solutions are rooted in trust and understanding across cultural and political divides so I strive to integrate diverse perspectives of thinking and doing in collaborative conservation initiatives.

Postdoctoral Associate, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)

Postdoctoral Associate, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Dr. Matthew T. Hughes is a Postdoctoral Associate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He received his PhD in mechanical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2023, where his researched focused on the potential of acoustically enhanced condensation heat transfer and the role of machine learning in the thermal sciences. His current work at MIT focuses on developing advanced diagnostics to help shed light on complex phase-change heat transfer phenomena encountered in common energy conversion systems. Beyond that, Matt has conducted research on simultaneous energy and resource recovery methods in water reclamation facilities, experimentally characterizing and enhancing waste-heat driven absorption chillers, and dynamic modeling and re-optimization of water-cooled vapor compression chillers.

Meisha Lohmann

Meisha Lohmann

Lecturer in English Literature, Binghamton University, State University of New York

Lecturer in English Literature, Binghamton University, State University of New York Meisha Lohmann is a lecturer in the English Department and the Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies at Binghamton University. Her research focuses on gender and sexuality in medieval literature and drama, and particularly on the ways that performances of identity are shaped by the places people inhabit. Her dissertation, "Drama without Theaters: Religious Drama in Medieval England and the Production of Space," explores how dramatic performances in England's streets and fields shaped the places and the people involved in these productions as producers, performers, and audience members. She teaches a wide range of courses at Binghamton University, from "Children's Literature" to "Queer Knights and Sexy Nuns," an investigation of medieval gender and sexuality. She also has a particular passion for enlivening her local community and co-founded an on-going lecture series in 2016 at the Coburn Free Library in Owego, NY to create opportunities to learn and discuss information outside the typical classroom setting.
