Lecturer, Kaupeka Ture | Faculty of Law, University of Canterbury
Lecturer, Kaupeka Ture | Faculty of Law, University of Canterbury I am a former legal practitioner, now legal academic, with a strong interest in the intersection of Te Ao Māori and western law. My masters of law focused on co-governance arrangements between iwi and the Crown with a focus on Ngāi Tahu and Ngāi Tūhoe. I joined the Faculty of Law at the University of Canterbury in early 2022 after two and a half years as in house legal advisor on the Ngāi Tahu Rangatiratanga over Freshwater project. I am admitted to the bar in New Zealand and have also practiced as a civil litigation lawyer, and worked as a Judges' Clerk in the Christchurch District Court. I am about to embark my PhD looking at extending co-governance into fiscal authority, specifically taxation and I have been awarded a Ngāi Tahu Centre Doctoral Scholarship for that. My academic interests include iwi and hapū governance in the corporate and environmental spaces, water law, and general Māori participation in resource management law.

Associate Professor, Ornithology, University of East Anglia
Associate Professor, Ornithology, University of East Anglia Rob is one of the senior scientists at the British Trust for Ornithology and holds an affiliation with the University of East Anglia. He provides strategic leadership and co-ordination of research across BTO as a whole. This includes improving the support our scientists have to undertake analyses effectively and ensuring best use is made of the valuable data collected by volunteers both for academic research and to inform policy. He is interested in how changes in bird populations and distributions are determined by demography, particularly the combination of survival and productivity, and his research focusses on understanding how these processes operate, particularly within an applied context.

Currently I am the Editor-in-Chief of the journal Sex Roles, and previously an Associate Editor for Body Image, Journal for Theoretical Social Psychology, Journal of Applied Social Psychology, Journal of Experimental Social Psychology, and Psychology of Women Quarterly. Senior Research Fellow, SPRU, University of Sussex Business School, University of Sussex Ralitsa Hiteva specialises in infrastructure and energy governance, business models, innovation and low-carbon transition. Ralitsa is also a Principal Investigator for an EPSRC funded project which aims to investigate the environmental impact of digital technologies for health and wellbeing in the home. The project works with Orbit (a social housing association), Appello (a digital care system developer) and the NHS to understand how people over the age of 55 in social housing encounter digital technologies in the home and, how the development, maintenance and operation of such technologies can be changed to reduce their environmental impact.

Researcher, Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose, UCL
Researcher, Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose, UCL I’m Rufus, an undergraduate history and philosophy of science student at UCL. I’m interested in philosophy of mind, cognitive science and technology. I’ve been incredibly fortunate to work as a research assistant at the UCL Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose (IIPP) under the wonderful Ilan Strauss, Tim O’Reilly and Mariana Mazzucato. At the IIPP, my contributions were largely dedicated to the algorithmic attention rents research project. In three recently released working papers we theorise and empirically demonstrate how big tech platforms are able to exploit their market power by controlling user attention.
