Associate lecturer, Sorbonne Université

Associate lecturer, Sorbonne Université I am Geologist at Sorbonne University (Paris, France). I am interested in cyclic climate and oceanic processes encoded in past (paleo) sedimentary records. I acquire and use high-resolution geophysical and geochemical data from the sedimentary records (either from outcrops or from subsurface-drilling programs) to address three multidisciplinary, interrelated topics: (1) astronomical calibration of the Cenozoic and Mesozoic time scales, (2) the role of orbitally controlled climate and sea-level changes in the hierarchy of sedimentary sequences, and (3) to which extent the sedimentary record could provide constraints on astronomical modeling. In this latter topic, I am interested in two subjects: (a) constrain tidal-dissipation parameters (and dynamic ellipticity of the Earth) by calculation of the precession frequency (constant, p) from well-preserved sedimentary cycles, and (b) mapping the expression of Myr- to multi-Myr-long astronomical cyclicities in the Cenozoic and Mesozoic strata, esp. their implication for the chaotic behavior of the inner solar system, expressed in these long orbital periodicities as resonant angles.

PhD Student in Geography, University of Tennessee

PhD Student in Geography, University of Tennessee Geography PhD Student at the University of Tennessee. My academic areas of expertise include protected areas studies, place naming, and nature and society relations. I am fascinated by protected areas such as our 'National Parks' and how factors such as a place name can shape the perceptions and experiences that people have when visiting them.

Samuel Godefroy

Assistant Professor, Physics, Engineering Physics & Astronomy, Queen's University, Ontario

Assistant Professor, Physics, Engineering Physics & Astronomy, Queen's University, Ontario I'm a professor (since September 2019) at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario. My research area is in the earliest stages of star formation and planet formation, including fragmentation processes, dust grain formation and evolution, gas chemistry and origins of life, the formation and evolution of protostars, the role of magnetic fields in star and planet formation, and the differences between low-mass and high-mass star formation. To explore these processes, I use observations from telescopes all over the world to investigate star-forming regions through continuum, spectral line emission, and polarimetry observations in the infrared, (sub)millimeter, and radio bands.

Associate Professor Family Therapy and Systemic Research, La Trobe University

Associate Professor Family Therapy and Systemic Research, La Trobe University Sandra directs the research program at the Bouverie Centre, La Trobe University since September 2023. She graduated with a PhD in Health Medicine and Life Sciences from the University of Maastricht (Netherlands) in 2011 and has over 20 years of experience in quantitative alcohol research. She is one of the world leading researchers on the impact of social roles on alcohol use. Her research centers on the social determinants of alcohol use with a focus on the impact gender, societal factors and cultural differences have on the interplay between the individual’s social role and personal alcohol use. She has repeatedly developed and evaluated health promotion and prevention programs in collaboration with end users, most recently addressing the increasing alcohol use of middle-aged women in Australia. Other central topics of her recent work are the impact parents have on the alcohol cognitions of their children as well as what role alcohol plays in the work-life balance of parents.
