Ålandsbanken Abp and Borgo AB agreed to phase out their platform and mortgage services partnership through 2027, with Ålandsbanken expecting a one-time operating profit boost of about 8 million euros.

Ålandsbanken expects to record the gain in the fourth quarter of 2026. Revenue it earns from providing Borgo with platform services will gradually end as that work winds down during 2026 and 2027.

The partnership began when Borgo was formed in 2021. Ålandsbanken has since supplied mortgage administration, platform services and specialist support. Ålandsbanken said Borgo gained the capacity to assume those responsibilities through its acquisition of Hypoteket, announced in August 2025 and later approved by regulators.

Under the agreement signed Oct. 19, some data and day-to-day operations will move from Ålandsbanken’s systems to Borgo’s future solution. Borgo will gradually take responsibility for services Ålandsbanken now provides.

Ålandsbanken will remain a Borgo shareholder and continue distributing Borgo mortgages in Sweden. The bank does not expect the change to affect its customers or Swedish mortgage offering. Both companies intend to maintain service for customers and distributors as the handoff begins in the fourth quarter of 2026.
