nVent Electric plc says it will add a Goodyear, Arizona, production site for engineered buildings used in power projects, citing customer investment in grid upgrades and reliability.
The leased property covers 400,000 square feet. It will make prefabricated electrical houses, or e-houses, for power utilities, data centers, industrial customers and other infrastructure projects. nVent says the buildings help customers put critical power systems in place. Production is expected to begin in mid-2027, and the company projects more than 200 people will work at the site once it is fully operational. nVent announced the lease Oct. 27.
Sara Zawoyski, president of nVent Systems Protection, said customer efforts to modernize electric grids and improve power reliability are contributing to demand. The company did not provide a hiring schedule or say how many of the projected positions would be new hires.
The Arizona lease follows another capacity project in the United States. In August, construction began on an additional 58,000 square feet at an nVent operation in southeastern Kansas. The company expects that project to create up to 60 skilled trade positions over the next year.
In its 2025 annual report, nVent identifies spending in data centers and power utilities as one influence on revenue from major projects. The filing also says results depend on which projects become available and whether nVent wins them through competitive bidding. The announcement of the Arizona lease did not specify customer commitments, the lease term or the facility’s investment cost.
nVent plans to report third-quarter 2026 results Friday, Oct. 30. Its conference call is scheduled for 9 a.m. ET.
