Fans of the 30 Rock will be delighted that the reunion they have been craving for will finally become a reality on July 16 in a virtual one-hour show that will be in keeping with the social distancing protocol of the coronavirus (CoVid-19) pandemic.
So, braced yourselves for the return of pretty much the whole 30 Rock cast led by one of the show’s creators—Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin, Tracy Morgan, Jack McBrayer and Jane Krakowski.
The reunion will be in keeping with the 30 Rock as it will be something that Baldwin's character, Jack Donaghy, would do.
NBCUniversal had announced that the 30 Rock cast will actually be hosting an upfront event in lieu of the upfront event that they do in New York City every year but which they cancelled this year due to the global pandemic.
In a normal setting, network executives organize upfronts wherein they will showcase to the advertising community their upcoming programming slate.
It seems that NBCUniversal is finding a way to adapt to the necessary protocols of the CoVid-19 as this virtual upfront reflects the reality that is brought about by the pandemic.
And, because it is a virtual upfront, it will not only be seen by the advertising community but also the home viewers.
The 30 Rock-hosted event will be an hour long and will be aired on NBC at 8/7c. It will also be rebroadcasted on CNBC, Bravo, SyFy, USA Network and E!
It will also be made available on Peacock, NBCUniversal's new streaming platform, a day after the NBC airing.
30 Rock went off air in 2013 after seven seasons and fans have been clamoring for a reboot or a reunion of the cast.
Tina Fey along with Robert Carlock, 30 Rock fellow creator, will be taking the lead in creating an event that will be in keeping with the show while incorporating NBC's promotion of its shows that are scheduled for autumn release.
