As fans should know by now, “Apex Legends” exists in the same universe as the “Titanfall” series. And one of the best ways to remind fans about it is by bringing a familiar face from the “Titanfall” games to the free-to-play multiplayer title.
Respawn Entertainment has released the first details about the next season of “Apex Legends.” Aside from new content and a new Battle Pass, the developers are also bringing another character into the roster. But she is not entirely a new face. The latest “Stories from the Outlands” trailer reveals that the “Apex Legends” season 11 will feature the addition of Ash.
Those who have been following the “Titanfall” franchise are likely familiar with Ash already. But to fans who have only played “Apex Legends,” Ash is a Simulacrum Pilot first introduced in “Titanfall 2.” While Ash’s consciousness is inside a robot body at the present, she has a tragic past including her former identity as Dr. Ashleigh Reid.
In “Titanfall 2,” Ash was known as one of the most savage characters in the game. Ash’s personality is known to be cold and is very serious about her tasks as a member of the IMC security forces. But that slightly changed when Ash became a field commander for Vinson Dynamics.
The latest “Apex Legends” teaser highlighting Ash’s story suggests that the same lore will carry over on her addition to the game. It also appears that Ash’s struggles with her previous life as Ashleigh Reid – and their vastly different personalities – will be tackled as part of her story in “Apex Legends.” In the official landing page for season 11, EA notes, “Ash is done just overseeing the games: she's ready to win them and prove she's the Apex Predator.”
Unfortunately, EA and Respawn are keeping Ash’s “Apex Legends” abilities still under wraps. But these details should be revealed soon as season 11, officially titled “Escape,” will begin on Nov. 2.
For now, EA has only revealed a few other updates going live as part of “Apex Legends” season 11. Developers will add a new weapon, the C.A.R. SMG, described as “flexible” and useful if players want to “become the last Legend still standing.”
