Upland’s metaverse has included the Argentinian Football Association (AFA), offering fans the opportunity to acquire NFTs and access a Buenos Aires-based environment.
Through its partnership with the AFA, Upland will offer video-based ‘spotlight’ NFTs using licensed footage from Argentina’s Primera Division domestic competition.
The Upland platform contains a real-world geography component that enables users to buy "digital land" that may be used to create virtual communities. These plots may contain virtual tourist destinations or profitable companies.
With visitors having the option to make purchases or earn prizes, the virtual worlds also serve as a potential fan interaction tool for sports organizations.
Additionally, Upland vowed to build a brand-new city for Argentina, the World Cup champions.
The AFA recently signed a number of agreements with digital outlets. OneFootball offers Primera Division highlights and other materials for free in addition to offering pay-per-view access to live competitive matches.
