The current hiatus in “Attack on Titan” season 3’s run will continue until spring. But the wait will be worth it as one of the biggest arcs unfold in the second half of the season.
To recap, the protagonists have started the preparations to retake Wall Maria and, subsequently, all of Shiganshina District. A fair warning to anime-only fans, be prepared for a series of action-packed battles and the death of several major characters in the remaining “Attack on Titan” season 3 episodes.
It is also no longer a secret that in this arc, the highly anticipated search of the Yeager family's basement will happen. It is Erwin's idea to search the place in the hopes understanding who wants to wipe out all of humanity through the Titans. However, there is a chance that it will take place in the latter parts of “Attack on Titan” season 3.
The last episode that aired in 2018 showed some scenes of small fights and sharing of hopeful ambitions for humanity among the Scouts. But, in the end, the first half of “Attack on Titan” season 3 showed the Scouts moving toward the entrance to Wall Maria.
Meanwhile, the crew behind “Attack on Titan” season 3 recently expressed their gratitude over the support they felt from the latest episodes. Director Koizuka Masashi told Animedia (translated by SNK News), “All in all, the audience reactions to what our staff produced have been quite impassioned - that never happened before, but we’re also very pleased by this. There were even committed fans who voluntarily gathered fan letters/messages over social media and brought them directly to our offices, even though we already received them online.”
There are 12 more episodes of “Attack on Titan” season 3 slated to air this year. It was previously confirmed that new installments will drop starting in April. But a specific date has not been announced yet.
