Briferendum Series: Leave extends lead with 12 areas counted

12 areas have been counted so far and to the nightmare of many, especially Prime Minister David Cameron, “Leave” camp is still leading. Not only has that it but it has extended its lead. According to the latest “Leave” is leading with 53.6 percent nationally, while 46.4 percent has favored remain. So far results show that parts of England has voted to get out of the European Union, while Scotts have so far favored staying inside the Union.

In many counting areas, leave vote is surprisingly beating the estimate. In Newcastle, it was expected that “Remain” will have 66.8 percent of the votes but it actually turns out as 50.7 percent. Similar can be said for Sunderland, where “Leave” was expected to capture 53.6 percent of the votes but in the reality, they did 61.3 percent. Though there are a lot of counting left but this underestimating of the Leave camp is worrying sign. We wonder if Leave was able to capture a large chunk of undecided voters.

The pound is currently trading at 1.453 against the dollar.
