The number of unemployed people in Germany increased by 17,000 in September, reaching 2.82 million, surpassing analysts' expectations of a 12,000 rise. The seasonally adjusted jobless rate held steady at 6.0%.
There were 696,000 job openings in September, down 65,000 compared to the previous year, according to the Federal labor office.
Additionally, the Ifo employment barometer decreased to 94.0 points from 94.8 in August, highlighting ongoing challenges for Europe’s largest economy.
