Briferendum Series: ‘Remain’ takes a lead as Glasgow throws in support

The “Remain” camp has taken a marginal lead over the “Leave” as Scotland’s biggest and most prominent city throws in support. About 10 minutes ago, result from Glasgow came in. 168,335 people voted in favor of remaining inside the Union, whereas 84,474 voted to go out. This result has given a lead to the “Remain” camp to 50.8 percent and “Leave” is trailing with 49.2 percent.

As we write on Glasgow, more results have come out –

  • Conwy voted to leave
  • Tamworth voted to leave
  • Stevenage voted to leave
  • Falkirk voted to remain

The “Remain” camp is now at 49.8 percent, while the “Leave” is leading with 50.2 percentage points. With such leads anything can happen, it is to close a call.

The pound is suffering terrific swings, currently trading at 1.452 against the dollar.
