“Call of Duty: Vanguard” will be released in a few days, and Sledgehammer Games has already lined up some free content to go live post-launch. Before the first season begins, the developer will provide players with preseason events, including the release of the Shipment multiplayer map.
It is worth noting that “Call of Duty: Vanguard” is confirmed to launch with 16 multiplayer maps. But the developer recently announced that players would be able to revisit a fan-favorite location shortly after the game launches this week.
The “Call of Duty: Vanguard” Season One is not scheduled to begin until next month, but players are getting the Shipment map as an additional “preseason” content. In the previous games, Shipment has been known as one of the smallest maps ever introduced in the franchise. As the name suggests, the map is filled with shipping containers that should provide cover for players. But because of its size, Shipment is commonly used for game modes with shorter matches.
However, Sledgehammer suggests there will be some changes applied to Shipment this year. The multiplayer map is said to be “re-fitted” for “Call of Duty: Vanguard.”
The preseason period for “Call of Duty: Vanguard” will run from the game’s launch on Nov. 5 through the start of Season One on Dec. 2. However, the Shipment map is not slated to go live until Nov. 17, which should give fans enough time to explore the maps that will arrive at launch before revisiting the classic location.
Meanwhile, more multiplayer maps are promised to arrive once Season One starts on Dec. 2. While the event will be available to all “Warzone” players, those who have purchased “Call of Duty: Vanguard” at that point will be given 24-hour exclusive access to “Call of Duty: Warzone Pacific.”
While the announced post-launch content gives fans something to look forward to, they might also want to prepare for the release of “Call of Duty: Vanguard” on Friday. Those who have pre-ordered the game on consoles can now start preloading the game. But fans who will play the game on PC will have to wait until Tuesday, Nov. 2.
