PEMBROKE PINES, Fla., Dec. 20, 2017 -- The FSUshadow Program helps to connect students with employers, alumni, community partners, and friends of the university for one-day job shadowing opportunities. The program, organized by The Career Center at Florida State University (FSU), provides exposure to an array of career fields and industries during the winter and spring break for graduate and undergraduate students. Students apply for up to 10 opportunities per session based on their major and other interests and then the companies participating select the students for this experience.
DAS Group was happy to jump onboard with the FSUshadow Program for the first time and hosted a total of four students over a two-day period, December 18th and 19th. Hosting these hard-working and driven individuals was an honor and our teams were excited to meet these FSU students, share experiences and answer their questions. Students met with every team at DAS Group including our Creative, Marketing and Development Teams as well as with Christina M. Parsons, CEO. In fact, the opportunity to connect with FSU came about because Parsons’ oldest daughter is currently a student at FSU. After spending the last two days with these FSU students, Parsons said, “There are a lot of talented young people in our communities who are looking to find their place in corporate America so it was rewarding to be able to give them some advice, answer their questions and be a small stepping stone in their career path.” She added, “I would encourage other companies to partner with FSU or a university in their area for similar opportunities.”
