With only a few weeks left before the official release of “Far Cry 6,” Ubisoft revealed its post-launch plans for the game. This should allow fans to better decide whether to get the Season Pass or not, while the developer also confirmed the upcoming free content will feature major crossovers.
The latest “Far Cry 6” trailer focuses on laying out the details about what Ubisoft will add to the game after it arrives next month. The highlights in the new video are the free “Crossover Missions” and DLCs to be released as part of the Season Pass.
There are three Crossover Missions confirmed, all of which are billed as “A ‘Far Cry 6’ Story.” These will be released for free and will be playable in solo or co-op mode. The first crossover will arrive in December with actor Danny Trejo. While Trejo appears as himself, the story of why he is in Yara is, of course, fictional. He seems to own a restaurant called Trejo’s Tacos and will also bring his staple machete while fighting alongside Dani Rojas.
The second free Crossover Mission is themed after “Rambo,” sans Sylvester Stallone, in February 2022. The “Far Cry 6” content will feature a Yara native, who happens to love Rambo and is also dedicated to toppling the military forces of Yara.
Then in March 2022, Ubisoft will release a crossover between “Far Cry 6” and “Stranger Things.” It also does not look like any of the beloved characters from the Netflix TV series will appear in Yara. However, a portal to the Upside-Down seems to be present in the embattled country and the mission is to find the Fang for Hire companion named Chorizo.
“Far Cry 6” Season Pass holders can expect more post-launch content and the theme is fan-favorite “Far Cry” villains. There are three expansions to be released as part of the Season Pass, starting with the “Insanity” DLC that features Vaas Montenegro. Ubisoft is also throwing in “Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon” as part of the Season Pass.
