Half-Life 3 remains one of the most highly-requested games of all time, with many fans inundating Valve with demands to make it for over 10 years now. At this point, it seems unlikely that this will ever happen. Fortunately, Square Enix is here to step up by adding Half-Life’s main character, Gordon Freeman to the PC version of Final Fantasy XV. Unfortunately, it’s only in the form of a skin of the iconic figure.
As The Verge notes, FFXV on PC will officially launch on March 3rd. However, gamers who want to get the special bonus feature of the Freeman skin will want to pre-order their copy of the game on Steam starting now and March 1st.
Doing so will enable them to dress up the game’s main character, Prince Noctis as the iconic Half-Life protagonist for free. The pack includes the orange HEV suit and the glasses. Naturally, the crowbar makes an appearance, which makes it possible to start pummeling the empire with one of gaming’s most effective weapons.
As Polygon notes, it’s an extremely bizarre arrangement that somehow works once players manage to see past the initial gut reaction. Since this is about as close as fans can get to a current generation Half-Life nod, it’s certainly better than nothing.
Getting the game via other stores do net other bonuses, as well. In the Microsoft Store, for example, players get phoenix downs and elixirs right at the start of the game along with an exclusive sword. What’s more, this version allows for cross save with the Xbox One version of the game.
For those thinking of getting the game via EA’s Origin client, a set of decals for the amazing Regalia car is on the table. It can only be obtained by pre-ordering the game or purchasing it before March 6th, however, so it’s best to hurry.
