While the “Grand Theft Auto V - Rockstar Games” remains as popular as ever, fans of the franchise can’t help but wonder when Rockstar Games might announce its sequel. Unfortunately, the developer remains tight-lipped and won’t even give an estimate on a “GTA 6” release date.
Gamers still enjoy playing the “GTA V” but it’s natural to long for something new. And it’s probably high time for a new game to arrive considering that the current one was launched back in 2013 and will already be turning seven this year.
But a recent leak seems to hint that Rockstar might be ready to unveil the “GTA 6.” According to Dexerto, the leak was uncovered popular YouTuber MrBossFTW and seems to suggest that it might be launched sooner than expected.
The YouTuber found a mysterious poster 4Chan that was posted anonymously. “March 25th. GTA VI,” the poster simply said and a Rockstar Games logo can also be seen in the poster.
Is this Rockstar Games’ way of teasing the “GTA 6” launch before it happens? It’s understandable if fans will be hesitant to believe the post especially since it was anonymous. However, MrBossFTW suggests that there might be some legitimacy to the claim.
It must be noted that 4chan has a history of legitimate Rockstar Games leak, according to Game Rant. For instance, the Red Dead Redemption 2 reveal date was also leaked via 4chan. GTA Online updates have been leaked on the site in the past as well.
However, it must be noted that there are a number of fake Rockstar Games leaks on the site as well. In fact, fake leaks probably outnumber legit ones so the recent leak suggesting of a March 25 “GTA 6” reveal must be taken with a grain of salt.
But it’s interesting to note that Sony’s upcoming console, the PS5, is rumored to be launched this month as well. Interestingly, there were also talks saying that the “GTA 6” might be released as a time-PS5 exclusive.
This could mean that, if both rumors are true, the “GTA 6” will be launched alongside the PS5 console. If this is the case, this arrangement would surely increase interest for both the upcoming title as well as the console.
