Another round of chilling moments is in store for audiences when “How to Get Away with Murder” Season 5 finally airs this month. The show will be picking up where the story concluded in the previous installment, with Annalise (Viola Keating) being reinstated at Middleton University, Express reported.
Obviously, another murder mystery is going to unfold in “How to Get Away with Murder” Season 5 and is set to disrupt the wedding of Connor Walsh (Jack Falahee) and Oliver Hampton (Conrad Ricamora). While details about the event are being kept under wraps, showrunner Peter Nowalk hinted that a shocking twist will be revealed during the nuptials.
Indeed, the trailer for “How to Get Away with Murder” Season 5 starts off with an optimistic tone but eventually warps into something ominous. What’s more, Nowalk’s previous statement was also quite bleak.
“I will say I personally kind of hate weddings,” Nowalk said. “And I hate the trope of it, so we’re going to do it in our own fun way.” Sounds like “How to Get Away with Murder” Season 5 will have quite a bit of Red Wedding going on.
However, it’s not always about plot twists and jaw-dropping reveals. While the literary technique has been put to use masterfully in previous installments, writers are also doing a great job developing its characters. And Annalise is set to do some introspection of her own in “How to Get Away with Murder” Season 5.
This will come in the form of flashbacks with some of them diving deep into her past relationship with her late husband, Sam (Tom Verica). Nowalk said that the relationship is a “story goldmine” for him as they haven’t really explored Sam and Annalise’s relationship in the past. “How to Get Away with Murder” Season 5 will expound on this but the showrunner didn’t disclose how much exploration they’re going to apply. The next installment is going to debut on Sept. 27.
