French haute couture powerhouse Jean Paul Gaultier (JPG) and futuristic British label KNWLS have announced an exhilarating fashion collaboration to debut on September 8. Comprising 40 statement pieces that incorporate grunge and prints, the collection marks a fusion of unique aesthetics from both brands. The launch is set to occur at New York Fashion Week, followed by an exclusive release via select retailers, thereby sparking global fashionista anticipation.
The official launch of this fusion line will take place in September, following a kick-off party at New York Fashion Week. KNWLS will showcase several looks from the collection during its September runway show, further adding to the anticipation.
Founded in South London in 2017, KNWLS is known for its futuristic aesthetic and form-fitting silhouettes. This collaboration with JPG is not their first encounter, as Jean Paul Gaultier's creative director, Florence Tétier, previously designed jewelry for a KNWLS showcase.
This partnership between two iconic brands has already generated significant buzz within the industry. Business of Fashion was the first to report the collaboration, teasing a fusion of their signature aesthetics that will showcase prints and grunge elements uniquely and captivatingly.
Ssense, MyTheresa, The Webster, FWRD, and Net-A-Porter will be the exclusive retailers offering this highly anticipated collection. Ssense will kick off the collaboration by showcasing the collection during New York Fashion Week, while KNWLS will also unveil collaborative pieces during its September show.
Alexandre Arsenault, the designer and co-founder of KNWLS, expressed great excitement about the project. He mentioned their aim to seamlessly blend the identities of both brands, creating a collection that embodies both KNWLS and Jean Paul Gaultier's signature styles. The resulting pieces could already be a part of the Jean Paul Gaultier and KNWLS archives.
Prepare to be enthralled as these two fashion powerhouses present a collection that pushes boundaries and defies expectations.
