Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck were recently seen attending a church service together and the ex-couple seems to be doing splendidly post-divorce. The “Peppermint” actress had quite the smile on her face as the actor placed his hand on her shoulder, The Daily Mail reported.
The duo has kept a healthy connection with each other when they announced their separation in 2015. The decision was heavily influenced by both Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck who wanted to co-parent their children even though they aren’t living under the same roof anymore.
However, this set-up wasn’t exactly obstacle-free as Ben Affleck recently suffered his third relapse from his alcohol addiction. During the time, Jennifer Garner was the one who came to the side of the “Batman” actor, bringing in an addiction specialist to Affleck’s house before whisking him to a rehabilitation facility.
Now, Ben Affleck appears to have found his footing once again as he just completed his third phase of treatment that his doctors drafted for him. Jennifer Garner’s ex-husband also landed his first movie role post-relapse where he’s to play a character who also suffers from substance abuse.
Titled “Torrance,” the film follows the story of an ex-basketball star who struggles with alcoholism and took a job as a high school basketball coach. Starring with Ben Affleck is “True Blood” actress Janina Gavankar who will play the ex-partner of Affleck’s character. In real life, however, Jennifer Garner is the one who is providing significant support to the “Argo” actor’s struggles.
The “Alias” alum previously said that she will remain supportive through the journey that Ben Affleck is going through as she didn’t want their children to grow up without a father. Indeed, even when Affleck was at his lowest in recent months, it was Jennifer Garner who was always been at the actor’s side.
And the photos that recently surfaced further solidifies the actress’ sentiment. Hopefully, Ben Affleck will find the resolve to finally conquer his addiction that has time and again brought him to his knees.
