Johnny Depp and Amber Heard are currently battling in the court following their bitter divorce. The two called it quits in May 2016 just after being married for 18 months. They have no kids, and their split was messy due to the actress’ claims that she was abused throughout their marriage.
Amber Heard’s claims
As proof that it was a chaotic separation, even after their divorce was finalized with Amber Heard getting $7 million, their court battles continue. This is because the actress made many allegations against Johnny Depp that even cost him his “Pirates of the Caribbean” movie sequels.
Amber Heard’s nasty claims of domestic violence abuse got more attention because she dropped the bomb at the height of the “Me Too” movement. She was saying that she stepped forward to reveal her own experience of emotional and physical abuse as well. She was letting everyone knows that she is a victim and went on to divulge negative stories about Johnny Depp.
But things took an unexpected turn when the actor countered her allegations with his own version of the story. He said that he was actually the victim of domestic violence and not Heard, as she has been claiming. With all the bad things that his ex-wife had said about him, which he said are not true, he filed a $50 million defamation case for the abuse he suffered.
New witness’ account placed Amber Heard’s claims in jeopardy
Now, in the recent development of Johnny Depp’s case against Amber Heard, a new witness came forward to give statements about what she knows. In her narrative, it seems that she suggested that it is not true that Johnny Depp beat his ex-wife in 2016.
She said that the bruises the actress showed on her face, which supposedly resulted after she was hit with a mobile phone by her then-husband, were not caused by the actor. Rather, the witness, Trinity Esparza, revealed that Amber Heard dropped the keys in elevator chute, and during the mishap, she got the bruises.
Esparza said that Heard said the bruises were on the right side of her face, but she saw them on the left side. Furthermore, the Mirror reported that the witness said that when the actress got her bruises, Depp was not at home because he was touring abroad. She narrated she saw hand marks on the actress’ neck two weeks after Depp supposedly threw a phone at her.
“She dropped her keys down the elevator chute,” Esperaza told Depp’s lawyers. “She had bruises on her neck and a Band-Aid.” And when asked if the actor is in the country, she replied, “no.”
Meanwhile, this deposition has been granted permission for use in the $50million defamation case filed by Johnny Depp. with more people believing the actor is innocent, a call for Amber Heard’s removal from the “Aquaman” movie sequel was also posted and the petition already gathered more than 445,000 signatures.
