Kia Drops Images of Its New All-Electric EV3 Model Ahead of Release

Kia teases customers by releasing images of its newest EV car model.

Kia Motors announced that its latest electric car model called the EV3, is finally coming to the market this month. Ahead of the release, the South Korean automaker dropped images of the anticipated new EV to tease customers and car enthusiasts.

Kia Motors posted several photos that allowed people to get a first look at its all-electric EV3 sports utility vehicle model. The company unveiled the images alongside a video on Tuesday, May 7, according to The Korea Economic Daily.

Confirmed Release Date of the Electric SUV

The company said it built the new vehicle as part of its goal to diversify its EV model lineup. In addition, it also wants to take the lead in the popularization of EVs not only in South Korea but globally.

Kia Motors said it will officially roll out its EV3 on May 23. This will be the brand's third all-electric compact SUV. It was created following the earlier versions, which are the EV6 and the EV9 models. All of these were made based on Hyundai's E-GMP (Electric Global Modular Platform).

Some Highlights of Kia's EV3 SUV

The EV3 is a compact SUV that was designed based on Kia Motor's "Opposites United" design philosophy which was introduced in 2021. This philosophy uses three energies: tension, harmony, and dynamism which are applied to form new ideas. Moreover, by combining these contrasting elements, a unique and harmonious look could be created.

The new Kia EV3 features a strong and bold appearance due to its Star Map signature lighting and vertical headlamps. The rear of the SUV has a voluminous tailgate design that offers a sense of spaciousness.

Meanwhile, Mobility Outlook reported that Kia Motors is planning a global world premiere for the new EV model. It will be live-streamed via the Kia Worldwide YouTube channel on May 23 at 7 p.m. KST.
