WASHINGTON, March 12, 2018 -- King & Spalding today announced that intellectual property trial lawyer Lori Gordon has joined as a partner in the firm’s Washington, D.C., office. Gordon joins the firm’s Trial & Global Disputes practice group and was a former partner at Sterne, Kessler, Goldstein & Fox, where she co-chaired the Patent Trial and Appeal Board practice.
Gordon specializes in litigation at the PTAB and federal district courts. She is recognized and consistently ranked in industry publications identifying the top practitioners in preparing, filing, and arguing matters at the PTAB. Her practice and leading roles in patent matters have been noted in publications such as IAM Patent 1000, Managing IP (finalist, PTAB Litigator of the Year), IP Stars (Top 250 Women in IP) and Lawyer’s Monthly (Women in Law Award, IP).
“Lori’s expertise with IPRs allows King & Spalding to offer a full patent litigation defense strategy for clients whether it is before the PTAB or a trial in federal court,” said Andy Bayman, leader of King & Spalding’s Trial & Global Disputes practice group. “Lori is entrepreneurial with excellent connections in the industry, and is a great addition to the firm’s IP and trial practices.”
Gordon joins new patent litigation partner Tom Friel, who started in the firm’s San Francisco and Palo Alto offices from Cooley last month. Gordon received her B.S. in electrical engineering from Lafayette College, her master’s in electrical engineering from Pennsylvania State University, and her J.D. from Seton Hall University Law School.
“King & Spalding is a known litigation powerhouse that complements my practice well,” said Gordon. “I am excited to partner with my colleagues to help clients manage their IP litigation needs.”
