As of this writing, video game fans are roughly one day away from starting their “Kingdom Hearts 3” journey. More gameplay reviews now report that the main campaign would take more than 30 hours to finish.
Aside from the Disney and Square Enix worlds and characters, fans are most interested about the amount of time it will take to finish “Kingdom Hearts 3.” The number of playing hours would give players an idea on the amount of content the video game has.
As for “Kingdom Hearts 3,” various critics confirmed that finishing the game’s main campaign took them more than 30 hours. GameSpot’s Tamoor Hussain said he finished the main story in 39 hours while Kotaku’s Tim Rogers said he completed it in “32 hours with some light end-game moseying.”
In July 2018, Geek.com reported that a source from Square Enix confirmed the main campaign would require 40 to 50 hours to finish “Kingdom Hearts 3.” But IGN later questioned the insider report noting that the game was still in development at the time. The game had only gone gold several months later in November 2018.
Based on the hands-on reviews, it can be said that the estimated 40 hours for the main campaign is not too off track. The above-mentioned playing hours only refer to the game’s main campaign. “Kingdom Hearts 3” is expected to come rich with side quests as well. And in Geek.com’s report, the unnamed source added that the side missions bring up the playing time by more than 80 hours.
Players who have pre-ordered the game will have access to some exclusive contents and can now begin pre-loading “Kingdom Hearts 3.” However, they would still need to unlock the game on its official release date on Tuesday, Jan. 29. “Kingdom Hearts 3” serves as the video game series finale to the franchise that first launched in 2002.
