The anticipated “Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory” could be launching earlier than fans expect. One of its likely voice actors may have subtly confirmed the work for the game continues amid quarantine, making a sooner launch possible.
‘Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory’ release date
The wait for the next main series installment of the “Kingdom Hearts” video game series will go on for an unknown amount of time. However, Square Enix has announced several new titles to keep the fans occupied, including the upcoming game “Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory.”
Despite the restrictions that COVID-19 caused on various media productions, a recent Instagram post from Madison Davenport caught the attention of video game fans. Davenport confirmed she continues doing voiceover work during home quarantine, which then sparked speculations that she could be working on her part in “Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory.”
Davenport voiced the Nameless Star introduced in “Kingdom Hearts 3.” The same character can be seen in the “Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory” trailer talking to Kairi and Riku. While Square Enix has yet to announce a release window for the game, Davenport’s social media update is giving fans more hope that the upcoming game is unlikely to get delayed.
What is ‘Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory’?
As the title suggests, it is a rhythm-action game that will feature popular songs used across earlier released “Kingdom Hearts” titles. Square Enix announced last month that more than 140 songs will be included in the game combining titles from “Kingdom Heart” soundtrack and select Disney songs.
The “Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory” trailer shows that its main gameplay is similar to that of an endless running video game. In true “Kingdom Hearts” fashion, however, the upcoming game will feature a storyline that is closely tied to the overall plot of the franchise.
“Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory” will have players run through various worlds and recall important events that took place throughout the franchise titles. The original trio -- Sora, Donald, and Goofy -- will be in the game, but the trailer also showed some “Kingdom Hearts” and Disney characters will join the action at certain levels. Square Enix confirmed the rhythmic game will be playable in single-player and online multiplayer modes.
“Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory” is promised to be released worldwide within 2020. It will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One system, and Nintendo Switch.
