"Law & Order: SVU" Season 20 premiere has finally aired on Thursday, Sept. 27. The Season 20 premiere run for two hours, and was divided into two parts: “Man Up; Man Down Part 1” and “Man Up; Man Down Part 2.” The two-hour premiere hints Olivia (Mariska Hargitay) is eyeing retirement.
"Law & Order: SVU" premiere episode starts off following Olivia Benson chasing a perp. Apparently, she is slower than usual during a different pursuit later in the premiere, and Olivia’s inability to nab the suspect on foot.
In her office, she told Fin (Ice-T) that she’s not sure how much longer she can be effective as a cop and a mom. Fin replied that she's being too hard on herself.
“No one expects you to be Wonder Woman,” Fin said. Olivia sadly answered him “I do.”
"Law & Order: SVU" Season 20 Ep. 1 is titled “Man Up; Man Down Part 1.” The synopsis reads,
“SVU investigates the sexual assault of a 15-year-old boy, but when he won’t cooperate, they must find another way to uncover his perpetrator; Rollins reconnects with her ex, and Benson worries she isn’t the Wonder Woman she used to be.”
According to TV Line, this is not the first time Benson has struggled with the work-life imbalance. This time, it is the first time Benson is dealing with physical manifestations and/or inability to perform her job to the fullest.
There is a new addition in "Law & Order: SVU" Season 20. "The Originals" Alum Sebastian Roche will appear in this season, Entertainment Weekly confirmed.
According to the source, Roche is going to be taking on the part of Arlo Beck, a charismatic leader of a controversial group known for “female empowerment.” Roche is best known for his role as Mikael, the patriarch of the Mikaelson clan on "The Vampire Diaries," and his appearance on "The Originals.
