The rumors that Mark Harmon is leaving “NCIS” is still generating some buzz around the web. The root of the whispers comes from the actor being involved in another project.
The project in question is the TV adaptation of the “Prey” novels by John Stanford with Mark Harmon going to be one of the executive producers. But even though the upcoming crime drama will take some of the actor’s time, Harmon’s rep has already come forward and said he’ll not be leaving “NCIS,” CountryLiving reported.
Mark Harmon himself has also expressed his desire to stay in the show. “You gotta pay attention to what it took to get it to this point. I don’t forget that, I’ve been in too many shows that haven’t done well,” Harmon explained. “To have an appreciation for getting up in the morning and enjoying that drive, to know that you’re coming every day to work with friends ... And oh yeah, by the way, it’s the number one show in the world. So, there’s a lot to love here.”
Indeed, “NCIS” has been sorely missed by its following as evidenced by the uproar seen over Twitter. The complaints revolve around “Big Brother” replacing the crime drama series on its usual time slot. But fans need not worry as “NCIS” and Mark Harmon will be returning on air this Feb. 3.
Titled “She,” the next episode will reopen a case that’s long been abandoned. There is a lot of buzz surrounding this release given that Ziva David (Cote de Pablo) has been included in its synopsis. David has been deemed as deceased by the show’s lore but her death wasn’t portrayed on screen. However, fans shouldn’t hope too much since Pablo’s name is absent on the IMBd listing. What’s likely going to happen is that Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and his team will pore over the notes that David has left behind when she was still investigating the case.
Returning to Mark Harmon and the rumors, fans should mark this one as highly unlikely. Given the actor’s previous statements and the success that “NCIS” is enjoying at the moment, the possibility of him leaving the series is next to impossible, Monster and Critics reported.
