It seems Meghan Markle is never far from the headlines these days, which isn’t surprising considering her new station. However, this level of coverage took a turn for the weird recently when the new Royal Couple appeared to have a day out in London. As it turned out, they were not the real Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, but their wax figure counterparts. This caused confusion among the public, which is similar to the conundrum regarding tiaras.
The slightly creepy appearance of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s wax doubles caused quite a few folks to wonder if the pair is breaking protocol when it comes to being out in public. As PEOPLE notes, the wax figures were convincing due to how well they were designed. Having clothes that closely resembled what the real deal often wore helped sell the effects, as well.
In any case, it seems clear that the only way for the new Royal Couple to spend actual time in public is with an army of guards or as some of the waxworks from Madame Tussauds. Still, it’s hard to deny that those wax statues come eerily close to looking like the real Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.
Speaking of complicated affairs involving the Duchess of Sussex, there have been some questions with regards to the protocols that involved tiaras. Specifically, many have wondered why Meghan Markel and Kate Middleton can wear tiaras while Princess Eugenie cannot.
It would seem that the reason for this is simply because Princess Eugenie and her sister, Princess Beatrice are not yet married, Express reports. Being allowed to wear tiaras has nothing to do with being born into the Royal Family or not. The accessory is reportedly only for women of the Royal Family who have spouses, regardless of it’s through marriage or by being born into it.
