A former boyfriend of Melania Trump has revealed surprising details about her early aspirations, shedding light on her life before becoming the wife of former President Donald Trump. Jure Zorc, who dated Melania during the 1990s, shared insights into her ambitions and their romantic beginnings in a candid interview with ABC News.
Melania’s European Ambitions
Zorc, who was in a relationship with Melania from 1991 to 1996, said that the future First Lady had little interest in living in the United States during her younger years. Instead, she dreamed of a career in Europe’s fashion capitals, such as Italy and France.
“She wanted to live abroad, in Italy, France, a life of fashion. She was very fashionable,” Zorc recalled. He added, “I think the idea of living in the U.S. was very far from our minds at that time.”
Melania, a native of Slovenia, pursued modeling as a career, building her portfolio across Europe before eventually landing in the U.S., where she met Donald Trump.
A Romance Like a Movie
Zorc described their first meeting as cinematic, recounting how he was riding his motorbike when he spotted Melania walking down a street. “I had a moment and thought, ‘Wow, who is this girl? She is so beautiful, I must turn back and follow her,’” he said.
The former boyfriend detailed his immediate impression of her elegance. “She was tall, had long hair across her face—I could hardly see her eyes. Her style and behavior were so classy,” Zorc added.
Interestingly, Donald Trump also claimed to be captivated by Melania’s beauty at first sight when they met at a New York nightclub in 1998. At the time, Trump was separated but not yet divorced and was reportedly on a date with another woman. Despite this, he was drawn to the Slovenian model.
Melania and Donald: A Love Story Begins
In a 2005 interview with Larry King, Trump shared how his attention shifted to Melania. “I was supposed to meet somebody else, a great supermodel. But I said, ‘Forget about her. Who is the one on the left?’ And it was Melania,” Trump recalled.
Melania echoed the sentiment, describing their initial meeting as electric. “It was great chemistry and energy. We had a great time. We started to talk, and something was there right away,” she said.
Social Media Reacts
The revelations have sparked lively discussions online, with users weighing in on Melania’s journey and her relationship with Trump:

From Europe to America
Despite her initial focus on Europe, Melania’s path eventually led her to the United States, where her modeling career flourished, and she became a household name. Her journey from Slovenia to the White House underscores the unpredictable twists of fate that have defined her remarkable life.
