It has always been a given in the manga and by extension, the anime that All Might was the strongest superhero due to his effective use of One-For-All. He has always been able to make full use of the power from the get-go and in contrast, his successor has struggled. However, is it possible that Midoriya might actually be on the road to becoming the strongest user of One-For-All? He seems to have a much deeper connection to the Quirk, as “My Hero Academia” Chapter 213 is expected to reveal.
In the previous chapter of the manga, a previous user of the inherited Quirk appeared before Midoriya to tell him that he is not fighting alone. He was also told that he can no longer use the power with “idle thoughts,” the meaning of which is still unclear. What is clear is that there is much more to One-For-All than even All Might seems to understand. This could lead to the revelation of untapped power in “My Hero Academia” Chapter 213.
Assuming that this is the case, it would make previous assumptions about Midoriya wrong in just what he meant when he says that this is a story of how he became the “world’s strongest hero.” It was previously thought that it simply referred to the mastery of his Quirk in the same way that All Might did. “My Hero Academia” Chapter 213 might just show that he can potentially be even stronger.
As to what this actually means for “My Hero Academia” Chapter 213, it’s clear that the match between 1B is already over and victory goes to them. A member of 1A losing control over his Quirk as Deku did is inexcusable, especially with Shinso having to step in and save him. This should make the chapter’s Jan. 14 release that much more interesting.
