The real-life National Basketball Association (NBA) is entering a significant time in its history in the opening of season 2019-20. This technically marks the start of a new decade for the league, which means players’ performance for the next years will decide if they get to be part of the 2020 All-Decade team. Meanwhile, developers of “NBA 2K20” celebrate the start of a new season by predicting who could be joining this prestigious list.
‘NBA 2K20’ predicts 2020 All-Decade team with a younger generation of players
Before going any further, it should be noted that being part of the All-Decade team is not an official recognition awarded by the league. It is a mere acknowledgment practically decided by media outlets based on how a player has performed over the last decade. But knowing how passionate basketball fans are, the prediction made by “NBA 2K20” devs has unsurprisingly stirred a little online debate on Twitter.
We just entered a new decade this NBA season.. So we predicted the 2020 All-Decade Team. Should the 2010 squad pass the torch to these young bloods????? pic.twitter.com/u6kZVP2rwx

“NBA 2K20” listed Ben Simmons, Luka Doncic, Giannis Antetokounmpo, 2019 rookie Zion Williamson, and Karl-Anthony Towns Jr. as possible members of the 2020 All-Decade team. Some fans might question Williamson’s inclusion on the list, but at this point, it has become obvious that he is a favorite back at the 2K headquarters.
Meanwhile, others also question 2K for considering Towns over Joel Embiid. Some fans also poked fun at the fact that “NBA 2K20” did not think players from the 2010 All-Decade teams (like LeBron James, Steph Curry, etc.) would not perform spectacularly in 2020 onward. Per NBA.com, the 2010 All-Decade first team includes Curry, James, Kawhi Leonard, James Harden, and Kevin Durant. All these players are still active in the league and are still the main players of their respective teams.
‘NBA 2K20’ update: 2K issues latest patch as the game is labeled top-selling title in the US for 2019
‘NBA 2K20’ has had a very interesting launch after many players complained of experiencing several bugs right on the first day of the game’s release. The developers responded to that by issuing batches of patch notes with the latest one being added on Monday.
The gameplay issues did not affect its profitability; it appears. NPD Group reported (via VGC) “NBA 2K20” is, so far, the top-selling title in the United States among all games released in 2019.
