'New Girl' Season 5 Episode 11 Recap: 'The Apartment'

This week’s episode of the hit comedy TV series ‘New Girl’ can sure be a bit nostalgic especially for the fans that have been following the show since day 1. Episode 11 titled ‘The Apartment’ was all about the gang facing situations of their own which has something to do with moving on and moving forward. So if you haven’t seen the episode then you clearly are missing out on all the good laughs you can get from watching it. Nevertheless, here is a recap of this week’s episode. Warning: Spoilers ahead!

First in the list is our new girl Jess who just got back from jury duty and has now resumed her work as a teacher. But to her surprise, there is a new principal in the school and she is in the form of an unreasonably demanding Principal Becky Cavatappi, played by Elizabeth Berkeley. She basically hands her job to Jess which Jess would have gladly accepted except that she is being too much. Cece advised her friend on standing up against her or maybe quit her job which Jess thinks is absurd. Surprisingly enough, Jess took her advice and quit.

Nick, meanwhile, is being harassed by a frequent customer at the bar. He has been flashing to Nick for a hundredth time which Nick would just laugh everything off. His friends, on the other hand, are worried about Nick that they tried to help him by calling a cop, which of course would mean Winston. He may very well have miscounted, but his certainty and calmness suggests that the actual number is almost certainly high.

Speaking of Winston, he also has issues himself as he tries to have his partner replaced. He has had enough with how his partner Ally has been sharing stories which he thinks is too much. But the truth is Winston is actually attracted to her and this attraction was actually reciprocated. It will now be in Winston’s hands how he is going to deal with this in the next episodes.

On the other hand, Cece has had to deal with a problem of her own. She is seen having trouble packing her things up as she plans to transfer to the loft and live with Schmidt. Instead of Schmidt helping her in packing, Jess will be around for her best friend and assure her that things will be alright.
