“One Punch Man” Season 2 will continue the adventures of Saitama, along with the exploration of popular secondary characters. But what’s really interesting in the second installment is the possibility of the limiter concept making its way in the series.
In the webcomic, the concept is used to explain how certain humans and monsters can reach Dragon level threat. This evolution is achieved only by pushing an individual to the brink of death, according to One Punch Man Wiki. Dr. Genus and Gyoro Gyoro are two characters who have deeply studied this trait, offering a parallel explanation of how and why it occurs. Apparently, breaking or removing the limiter will result in a human or monster to exponentially increase their strength by incalculable folds. While this isn’t confirmed just yet, “One Punch Man” Season 2 may introduce this concept in the show.
After all, the second installment will be adding Garou, one of the few characters who managed to break his limiter. It would be interesting to see how the show will explain Garou’s growth in power, especially since he isn’t on Saitama’s level just yet. Another character that has broken his limiter is Orochi, the leader of the Monster Association. Interesting though this villain is, it’s unlikely that he’ll be included in “One Punch Man” Season 2.
At least, not to the point of deeply exploring his origin. So far, the trailer of “One Punch Man” Season 2 only featured two new characters: Garou and King. Although King has been labeled as “The Most Powerful Human on Earth,” he’s actually a fraud. However, King does have a caring and compassionate heart to him and has helped Saitama get out of a tight situation on several occasions.
As for the release date of “One Punch Man” Season 2, it’s been slated to air on April. Hopefully, the limiter concept is explained in the second installment so anime fans will have an idea of how exactly Saitama got so powerful.
