The OnePlus 6T is expected to launch later this year, but the company has kept a tight lid on specific details, which means that leaks are rather scarce. However, there are some renders and concepts that might actually have a chance of influencing the design of the upcoming device. It’s worth noting that these are not official in any way. However, it’s not unheard of for OnePlus to take inspiration from existing smartphone designs.

First is the OnePlus 6T concept from the YouTube Channel Science and Knowledge, which released a video that contains several proposed features and design ideas for the device. The clip has some fairly interesting proposals that OnePlus might hopefully take to heart. These include a triple rear camera setup, wireless charging, and an in-display scanner.

The video even envisions imaginary specs, including an Optic AMOLED display with 3,040 x 1,440 resolution and a Snapdragon 845 processor. It also throws in up to 8GB of RAM and as much as 256GB of storage space. Considering the trend of the smartphone industry and how the OnePlus 6T is expected to improve on the standard models, these aren’t unrealistic proposals.

Another design concept that could at least influence the design of the OnePlus 6T that of the Oppo R17. New leaks have shown what this upcoming device from the Chinese manufacturer could look like and it’s not half bad. With its neatly curved edges and possibly the smallest notch in the market to house the front camera, it certainly doesn’t look half bad.

As Phone Arena notes, OnePlus has not been above borrowing the design of other smartphones in making its own products. The OnePlus X and the Oppo Mirror 5 look quite similar, for example. As such, the OnePlus 6T could also end up taking on some of the design features of the Oppo R17. Then again, these are still just concepts and the end results could look quite different from what these concepts show.
