Pacific Ocean Environmental Planning and Engineering Contracts worth $18 Million Announced

Honolulu, Hawaii, Jan. 11, 2018 --

The US Army Corps of Engineers announced a contract opportunity today for two architect-engineer firms to perform work in the Pacific Ocean Division Area of Responsibility. These indefinite delivery task order contracts share an award ceiling of $18 million depending upon the number of tasks ordered throughout the potential five-year period of performance. To be considered eligible firms must submit required materials by February 12, 2018.

The environmental planning and engineering services requested range from preparation of documents, to engineering work to develop federal water resources. Contractors should be familiar with a handful of environmental acts and how they relate to the Pacific Ocean Division Area of Responsibility, a region stretching across the ocean from the Far East to Alaska.

With headquarters in Hawaii, geographic preference could be given to firms that are closer to the area. Regardless of the firm’s location however, they should demonstrate their ability to understand local conditions in the place of performance. This includes understanding the physical environment, local engineering criteria and local construction methods and market conditions.

The required documents for this phase of the solicitation demonstrate specialized experience and professional qualifications. To be considered eligible firms need to present at least eight completed projects in the last five years which demonstrate technical competency for this work. The firm’s management and ability to monitor the quality of their work will be considered so, a plan for quality control should be submitted as well.

Submissions in the proper format can be sent to the US Army Corps of Engineers in Honolulu. Adherence to project schedules and following guidelines is critical to the government.
