Both the India-based and the global arm of the Poco smartphone brand are teasing launch events for an upcoming device. While these are happening on different dates, clues suggest it is going to be for the same product — the Poco X3 Pro.
Poco X3 Pro has two launch events?
The Twitter pages of Poco Global and Poco India have been busy over the last week teasing their upcoming events. The former has announced its “biggest launch of the year” happening on March 22, while the latter is giving clues about a product with the tagline “PROformance” as a play on the word performance on March 30.
Unlike their previous launches, Poco Global and Poco India are a little more secretive on what device they are going to present. However, fans already anticipate it to be the Poco X3 Pro since it is also the only phone under the brand that has been appeared in leaks recently.
When the company announced it is going to be an independent brand from Xiaomi in early 2020, it was Poco India that made the first move and launched a couple of new devices before Poco Global did its own thing as it announced Poco F2 Pro. While fans have argued that their most recent phones have been rebranded Redmi devices, they do not have overlapping products. It is then going to be interesting how they will approach the launch and marketing of Poco X3 Pro and why they are holding different events for likely the same device.
Poco X3 Pro specs, design: What to expect
Speculations that the events later this month are going to be about the Poco X3 Pro were solidified when known leaker Ishan Agarwal revealed the device’s alleged renders. The name is fitting since the leaked phone looks almost identical to Poco X3 that was released last September.

One of the most noticeable similarities is the arrangement of rear-facing cameras. The Poco X3 Pro is rumored to sport a quad-camera in an X formation like its predecessor. But it remains to be seen if there will be any upgraded sensors.
The companies are also hinting at the device offering a powerful performance without a high-end price tag, which is what the Poco brand is known for. That could mean the Poco X3 Pro will be released with a Snapdragon 8-series chipset, and Snapdragon 860 is one of the candidates.
