‘Rick and Morty’ Season 4 News: August Release Date Predicted as Series Leaves Netflix, Moves to Channel 4

Rick and Morty

“Rick and Morty” season 4 is leaving Netflix after three seasons and it was announced that the popular animation is moving to Channel 4. This means that when the fourth season premieres, it will now be broadcast via the said TV network.

According to The Independent, Adult Swim and Channel 4 signed a deal thus aside from “Rick and Morty” season 4, other American shows that the animation company produces will now be released through the UK’s channel. Some of the other shows that will be made available on Channel 4 are “The Venture Bros, “Mr. Pickles” and “Mostly 4 Millennials.”

Channel 4’s director of programming, Ian Katz, also expressed excitement over “Rick and Morty” season 4’s transfer to their company. In a statement, he said, “Rick and Morty is one of the most anarchic, ingenious and original shows around and the breakthrough animated hit of recent years. I’m thrilled that it’s coming to Channel 4 and E4.”

E4’s executive, Karl Warner, added: “Adult Swim’s amazing mix of original ideas and anarchic comedy is the perfect brand partner in E4’s evolution.”

Now, while “Rick and Morty” season 4 has a new home now, still, there is no announcement with regards to its release date. However, there were predictions when it will arrive and the date given was based on the show’s past release dates and the period when the production actually commenced.

A news outlet deduced that “Rick and Morty” season 4 will premiere in August. It noted that it has been almost two years since season 3 aired and so there is a possibility that it will be coming out this year, in a couple of months.

Moreover, Dankanator mentioned that Bardel Entertainment’s animator Eric Bona Nfon’s tweet about getting back to work for “Rick and Morty” season 4 is another possible indication that the series will arrive very soon. It went on to explain that in September 2016, the cartoon’s writers Sarah Carbiener and Erica Rosbe also informed fans that they had finished writing for season 3 and it premiered on April 1, 2017.

This means the “Rick and Morty” season 4’s staff need to work on the show for full seven months straight to complete season 3 thus, following the same pattern, since Eric Bona Nfon revealed that they have officially started to get back to work, then there is a chance that it will be ready in seven months as well. but then again, this is just an assumption and fans still have to wait for an official release announcement from Adult Swim.
