‘Riverdale’ Season 3 Episode 9 Air Date, Spoilers: Will Veronica Confront Harim, Start Relationship With Reggie?

The CW’s hit teen drama series will start off 2019 with “Riverdale” season 3 episode 9. It will certainly pick up from the chaos it left in 2018, all thanks to the evil works of Hiram (Mark Consuelos).

For a brief recap, the show’s mid-season finale provided important answers to all the mysterious events happening in town. Coming into “Riverdale” season 3 episode 9, it was confirmed that Hiram has been wanting to shut down the town so he can fully take over. He accomplished that and the show ended 2018 with Hiram having a toast with the Gargoyle King.

The protagonists are still in disarray in “Riverdale” season 3 episode 9 with some of them possibly having a hard time getting back to town due to the enforced quarantine. This is going to be the chance for Veronica (Camila Mendes) to take the lead, according to a teaser (via CarterMatt) for the 2019 mid-season premiere.

However, it is unlikely that Veronica could manage to put an end to her father’s plans alone in “Riverdale” season 3 episode 9. At some point, the protagonists will have to team up again. Executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa previously told TVLine that the characters finding “something to fight for” will also bring them back together in the upcoming episodes this year.

Meanwhile, the promo video for “Riverdale” season 3 episode 9 also teases that Veronica will have something more personal to deal with other than her problematic dad. One of the recent highlights of the show has been her breakup with Archie (KJ Apa). Since then, she became obviously closer with Reggie (Charles Melton).

And the trailer for “Riverdale” season 3 episode 9 confirms that Veronica and Reggie will have some intimate encounter, which could possibly lead to them officially dating. Does this mean she will not ever get back together with Archie?

Aguirre-Sacasa hinted Archie and Veronica might still have a chance. “I can tell you that in my mind, and story-wise, Veronica and Archie have not broken up. … They did have that tearful phone call, but a lot of that was circumstantial. None of that really had to do with their feelings for each other. So in my mind, even though they had that tearful goodbye, and it’s going to take some figuring out, if and when they come back together,” the EP explained. “Riverdale” season 3 episode 9 will air on Wednesday, Jan. 16 on The CW.
