LAS VEGAS, Jan. 09, 2018 -- Smart Home innovator Roost, today unveiled the Roost Smart Garage Door Sensor to enhance home protection and everyday peace-of-mind. The Roost Smart Garage Door Sensor joins Roost’s growing suite of Wi-Fi connected home products, which include the second generation, award-winning Roost Smart Battery and the Roost Smart Water Leak and Freeze Detector.
The Roost Smart Garage Door Sensor always keeps residents apprised of the state of their garage door, providing greater knowledge and awareness of the security of their home. This new smart sensor will notify owners if the garage is still open at bedtime, or if it is left open after they drive away in the morning. Notifications can also be customized by time – if for instance a parent wants to be sure children arrive home after school between 3-4pm or if you just want to mange alert receipts to time of day when you want to receive them. The Roost Smart Garage Door Sensor is one more way that Roost helps people take care of their home and their loved ones by monitoring the “heartbeat of their home.”
“We are in the business of creating technologies for the home that increase people’s sense of security and peace-of-mind,” said Roel Peeters, co-founder and CEO of Roost. “In the US, there are over 82 million home garages1 and more than 2/3 of homeowners use the garage door as their primay entry point.2 After fire and water damage, our research found that door security, especially the garage door ranked very high among home owner concerns. Like all of our smart sensors, we developed the new Roost Smart Garage Door Sensor to solve real, everyday consumer pain points.”
The Roost Smart Garage Door Sensor is an easy to set up Wi-Fi-connected monitor that sends customizable notifications to a smartphone, communicating the state of a garage door; open or closed. At any hour, owners can check Roost’s free mobile app to check on the status of their garage door home entry point
