The ABC press site for “Jimmy Kimmel” just released a breakdown of this week's guests and topics. Scottish “Outlander” star Sam Heughan, who plays Jamie Fraser on the show, is set to appear on “Jimmy Kimmel” on July 26, Thursday.
Heughan seems set to talk about the upcoming Lionsgate Film “The Spy Who Dumped Me,” where he stars alongside Mila Kunis and Kate McKinnon, who play best friends Audrey and Morga, respectively. The film, expected to be a hilarious spy film parody, is set to be released on Aug. 3.
Heughan will be playing British super spy Sebastian Henshaw, who has been teased as tracking down the unlikely pair of Audrey and Morgan as they bumble around Europe due to being sucked in by an international conspiracy. While his role sounds sinister, there has yet to be any confirmation that Heughan's Henshaw is anyone but a friend to Kunis and McKinnon's characters.
The show's official trailer has been sparse about the nature of the international conspiracy that the Kunis, McKinnon, and Heughan team is working towards ending, which most likely will be heavily teased by the Scottish actor on “Jimmy Kimmel”.
Considering the talk show's billing of Hueghan for “The Spy Who Dumped Me” instead of his long career with “Outlander,” fans can expect most of the interview to revolve around the excitement leading up to the movie's release in August. Still, considering that “Outlander” recently finished wrapping up production, fans of the period drama based on Diana Gabaldon's works may get some nuggets of spoilers for the show's upcoming fourth season in November.
Justin Theroux, who will also appear in the film as the titular spy who dumps, will have an earlier interview with Kimmel today to talk about what fans will be seeing him do in the movie as well.
